Mark obtained his BEng and PhD from the School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, University of Birmingham UK. He then decided to come back Hong Kong and joined the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and is now an Associate Professor.
His research interests include railway signalling, computer simulation of railway operations, railway maintenance and condition monitoring, railway open market, traffic control in networks, artificial intelligence and applications.
He is currently involved in the teaching of the subjects Electrical Traction Systems, Railway Signalling and Train Control systems, Analogue and Digital Circuits, Basic Electricity & Electronics.
Mark is a Chartered Engineer and a member of IEE, IEEE and IEAust.
He used to enjoy playing football and tennis but a torn knee ligament some years back makes even an easy friendly game rather difficult now. He has however found new hobbies in swimming and golf, among others.
