The Laboratory is involved in all areas of power electronics,
from computer power supplies that convert less than 100 watts of
power, to space and industrial systems that provide tens of
kilowatts of power. It is equipped with state-of-the-art
equipment for teaching and research in Power Electronics and
Drives.
The laboratory houses an updated computer equipment and software
programs, facilitates efforts in modelling and analysis, and
computer-aided design tools to perform analysis and real-time
control of power converters and drives. It is also equipped with
housed testing facilities for lighting, energy saving and motor
drives. We also do extensive research in switched-mode power
supplies, power converter systems and motor drives. It is also
part of the Power Electronics Research Centre laboratory.
