The Microprocessor Application Laboratory provides experimental, research and development facilities in the area of microprocessor/controller applications.

Major Application areas are data acquisition in power system, parallel processing the power system computation, image processing and multimedia application for teaching.

A variety of microprocessor/controller development supporting equipment is available.

  • Universal Programmers, logic pulsers, logic probes and high speed logic analyzer

  • Z8, 8051/8052, 80552, 68HC705 and TMS 370 single chip developoment systems

  • 8096/80196 microcontroller development system and TP86A single board

  • SGS-THOMSON ST62 and Microchip PIC 16 microcontroller development systems

  • Transputer development system for parallel processing system supplied by Microway

  • Transputer based development system for image processing supplied by Transtech

  • A full range multimedia development system

  • Video conference equipment include Connectix Quickcam and TEKRAM C210
