Computer Centre (EF405)

 
Description:

 

The Computer Centre (Please visit our Home Page) caters for all general computing usage in the Department. Apart from scheduled laboratory classes, all students can access the centre freely during daytime using their student ID card.

The Centre provides computing facilities for

  • software development, multi-media material development,

  • internet access, and multi-media group teaching.

  • The centre provides technical services for the Department's computing equipment and

  • also serves as a centre point for the purchase, stocking and distribution of software.
     

 

Major Equipment:

  • Twenty networked 1.1GHz Athron multi-media computers (Windows & Linux)

  • Video Projector, laser printer, colour injets, and other graphic outputs

  • CD/DVD Re-writer, LS-120, ZIP, and other removable storages

  • Scanner, writing tablet, & other multi-media inputs

  • A 24hr remote survellance system

Major Software:

  • Matlab R13, MagNet 10 , AutoCad 2002 , OrCad R8 ,MicroStation LE

  • ERACE, PowerTech, EMTP, CYMFLOW, EDSA

  • Microsoft Office, ComNet, Viso 2002
